paper puzzle - how well do you know rochester history?
October 18, 2009 - 1:26pm
I figured out all 13 people and number pairings, it's cool the things you learn about the area and it's people while figuring things out, but am at a loss to find the 14th.
I tried drawing a line between the number and matching initial, then looking at those letters that don't have a line or those that have lines cross on them. But these approaches came up with either too many letters or not enough to make any sense.
Any hints on what to do with the 13 answers to find the 14th is welcome.

I also note that the ovals with initials in them are all different sizes, seeming to have no relation to the number of initials within.

That's an I interesting observation. We were also thinking about the whole scissors border. Maybe we're supposed to cut it out and fold it?

Several Watchers have figured it out -- although maybe they just used trial + error to find a name that PTI accepts as a code. =)
Any hints, folks?

Thanks, Poinky. That was REALLY evil, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Okay, I've cut it out and folded it along all the lines, but nothings jumping out. Do you have to unscramble the letters in the middle?

each fold points to a letter.. and you only do one fold at a time.

Fold so the points are in front. Make your folds in order, 1-13.

Yeah! lol... finally got it. Thank you all so much for the help! These puzzles have been getting harder and harder. Wonder what next week will be like! :)

Still puzzling this one out. What's really odd is that one of the lines drawn between number and answer doesn't intersect any letters at all...
