Twitter clue...
September 17, 2009 - 10:50pm
Some clue was posted to twitter at SCP_rochester but now they've protected their tweets.
Anyone have it? I don't tweet.

Any hints would be appreciated. I unfortunately also made a Twitter account too late to catch the hint. Thanks from one Watch member to another. :-)

Well, I don't think tweets on Twitter are ever really protected. If you do a search for "from:scp_rochester" then you can see that user's tweets.
Here's a link to that search:
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=from%3ASCP_rochester
I'm thinking that they must have deleted the post though, because I don't see anything anymore.

I found the clue, I had to beg and plead someone -- but I got it.
I'm not liking this type of clue. I'm hoping for more points for doing things well, not for being in the know.
Less insider-y information -- more skill based points would be preferable for me.
These secret hidden code clues are less interesting to me that getting a great score in the Map game or prefect answers in the scavenger hunt.

Yah I think these type of hunts are kinda ridiculous.
Kinda sucks the fun out of alot of the things we do.On that note any hints?? please ^.^

search.twitter will show the twitter log, so deleted tweets would show up there as well. Makes me think it was some sort of personal message or something like that?

Wow... Team Watch is all over that code now. All of a sudden a whole bunch of Watch peeps cashed in on those points.
still.... I hate the whole "insider-y" nature...

Twitter feed is protected. No new public posts that can be seen.
Was there another tweet for 5 points? There is another achievement people are earning -- something about "you don't need 30 lives to play this game" You earn uber geek for getting this one.
And where did the gear puzzles go that were posted slightly after midnight?!?!?! I was going to do them the first thing this morning. They are gone? Does that mean Friday is a day of rest and everything starts up again tomorrow with a new scavenger hunt?

Uber Geek is an easter egg on this site. The admin took Friday's puzzle offline because of a problem with it. Probably be back later.

Hey Guys, don't get too hung up these hidden points. We were told at the beginning that in addition to the public points, there would be harder points to find.
Yes, it's easy for me to say that since I got the points, but I've learned that this game will be much easier if you play with a team. I got the points because one of my teammates found it. Also, remember, it's for charity. With the exception of the gala ball at the end for the top 150 points people, there are very few prizes. I think the broader goal is the fun and the social aspect of it. What other event in Rochester has brought together 1500 people to do something like this?
Back to the points issue.... based upon this first week, I'm assuming total points is going to come in around 13,000. It appears that a good 75% (or more) of all points are going to come from public puzzles - web puzzles, newspaper puzzles, community puzzles, etc. The harder points are going to be a way to make sure there aren't 500 people tied for first at the end of the 7 weeks.
Just my opinion. I am not associated with the game at all.

Given the hints on the forum I'm assuming the ubergeek code has something to do with Second Life. However, SL is a big place, and I have not seen any more directions on this site anywhere. Any more hints on where to look?
Also annoyed about missing the twitter clue - especially since I was sure I was following them. Hopefully they'll accept new followers. Time-limited codes are a but unfriendly :)

The "30 Lives" Achievement has nothing to do with Second Life.

Not for nothing, I only just signed up for a twitter account, and I was still able to enter the limited twitter clue...apparently, it's not just for the first 30 users.
And, yeah, there's a reason that achievement was dubbed 'uber geek' ;-)

how did u manage to get it @.@ I am still trying to get it unfortunately... Any hints would be greatly appreciated. I am sure many others would too.
