Week 5 OMG gears
October 16, 2009 - 8:55am
I don't think I'm ready to ask for hints yet... I'm just whining. :-) No matter what I try I can only get two of the three gears. I've got three different sets of two gears... but still only two none the less. My children are getting frustrated with my distraction. I think I need to walk away for a while and try again later. *sigh* It feels like it is back to as difficult to get things to move around as it was the first week. Not sure what is different. :-(

Hmmm... upper left-easy peasy. Can't get the other two going fast enough. I have the dark gray gears as small as they will go and the light gray as large as the will go. Any hints?? Thx!!

hughesbrown~ you want to use the same idea as the OMG gear for week 3, that will make them go faster =)

LOL... My memory isn't that good. I guess I should have taken notes! Got both top gears but the bottom is still too slow. At least I am getting closer!

Interface seemed to be a bit clumsy again, but finally got it... The upper left gear is easy, the upper right and lower left gear combinations are almost identical to each other.

When I started last night there were 4 dark Gray gears and 4 light gray gears. Now, I seem to lost one dark gear and when I reset I get to a level where I left it last. It does not reset and bring all gears..
Any Hint???

Something similar happened to me, and I just went in and out of the program a few times, and hit reset a few times till it cleared itself up.

I tried refreshing and reloading again. But, I still cannot find the other gear.

I wonder if you cleared your cache if it would come back? Where's Joe to chime in when we need him? ;-)

There are only 3 light grey gears in the OMG puzzle. There are 4 dark gray ones. You can do it with the number given.

I didn't even go back and look before I answered... gypsy is correct... there are only 3 light grey ones. That's all you need.

I have three of each. There should be 4 dark, but I am still missing a fourth one. Resetting doesn't work right now.

That is a problem -- you will definitely need a forth dark one. Bummer...

Is there any chance it is just to the outside edge of the puzzle?

yes. It is outside the puzzle but if I reset it, then I should get it back. I got one kai-ching and the other two are two slow but i need the black gear now to make sure i get all kai-ching..

I have reset and it's not working. Time is running out. It will not reset no matter how many times I click reset. I have even gone out of the gears section and came back still it will not reset. I have logged out and come back-nothing. Usually when it resets all the gears resort to their origianl small sizes and relocated to the center of the still gears. It does not reset to this. I am still missing 1 dark gear to stack on the the light gear to get Ka-Ching on my last gear. :(

OMG wk 5 has crashed on me for the 5th time. Ugh.

Make that 7 times... I'm going to watch baseball.

Finally got it after giving it one last try... tell you I would have made the deadline save at least 3 of those crashes. Anyone else have OMG lock up on you?

I did! As just as it clicked for me. It was so close, though, I don't think I would've made it anyway.

Locked up on me many times. Had to leave the site and come back each time. I never did get it. Also found that sometimes when I left and came back, the black gear was spinning in the opposite direction. I give up.

I found the one in the bottom left corner was very picky today. The upper right one took a bit of futzing but was easier and the upper left was very straightforward. Using the up and down keys one click at a time and moving the gears over in tiny increments made it eventually work out.
