Is there a way to retrieve a gear that has disappeared off the page? I have a little sliver of the gear showing still, but I can't pull it back onto the page. I have 3 ka-chings on the hard gears, so I don't want to reset! Thanks for your help.

try highlighting that little piece and changing its size- one time it worked for me. Good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to send this suggestion! I've gotten that trick to work before, but this time the gear is already as big as it can get, so I'm not able to get this to work. Darn.

If you right click on the game there is a zoom in option. Maybe that wil let you enlarge the view of the gear so you can grab it.

Thanks, Poinky. I tried that, too. I think I'm doomed.

ebecca,

I destroyed the saved state that was giving you difficulty. It should reset to the beginning of the puzzle if you try it again.

Beyond that, the only other thing I might've suggested is driving that gear so it turns far enough to grab one of the spokes and drag it back home.

Hope this helps!

I too had almost lost a gear off the page and couldn't get the 4-way drag arrows to appear to move it back onto the page. I hated to reset, so I left the page to look for help, making future resets useless.

From reading this thread, I didn't know what Joe meant by driving the gear so it turns far enough... But when I looked at my game page, I saw that my almost-lost gear was connected to a green gear that I hadn't tried to connect to anything. Neither was spinning.

So I took another gear, used it to connect the green gear to the black source gear, made the almost-lost gear spin and when the cross-bar came around, put my cursor on it and, sure enough, the 4-way drag arrows appeared. Saved!

Glad I was able to retrieve the gear without losing my work.

I love the concept of these gear puzzles. Alas, when I put the cursor on a gear and get the 4-way drag arrows, and then left-click to grab the gear to move it, the gear often flies across the page, sometimes half off the page, and maximizes.
