scavenger hunt deadline ??!!!

we were out of town this weekend and in our haste to catch up and get the sunday newspaper puzzles done before the deadline we did not catch up on our email or read the fine print in the "this week" update and alas ...
missed the scavenger hunt deadline.
this will be the first achievement we have missed all game (except the earlybird bonus) and we are very very disappointed.
why the premature deadline? some people do have travel plans on weekends...
tuesday or wednesday would make sense but why weekend only ? :((
any chance of an extension?

per the e-mail which was sent by PTI this weekend:
in order to have enough time to get tickets to party attendees, we're making the SCVNGR hunt a weekend-only activity, and the video challenge due on Tuesday evening, so that we can calculate the top 150 by Wednesday at 6pm.

The early deadlines this week are for two reasons.
First, we didn't want people walking along industrial roads in the dark for this week's scavenger hunt.
Second, we have to have the top 150 finalized by Wednesday morning, so the scavenger was a weekend-only hunt, and the videos are due by Tuesday at 8pm so we can assign all achievement, ajudicate disputes, and still send the requests for full name and preferred email address to the top 150 on Wednesday.
We had actually intended to calculate the top 150 based on the standings at the end of week 6, but since we somehow neglected to communicate that, we felt we needed to allow people a chance to complete the major week 7 challenges before calculating the top 150.
