When I tie to invite a friend I get this message:

Warning! The Facebook user currently logged in does is not the same user that is tied to this account

What is up with this? The only thing that comes to my mind right now is that my email service works with both a .com and .net and I used one for PTI and the other for Facebook.

I've had this same problem ever since the invite a friend started. I invited 1 friend and then the problem started. Logging in and out of PTI doesn't help. Only way to get rid of this problem for me is to log off PTI and delete all cookies and history.

Unfortunately it returns if I bounce back and forth between facebook and PTI pages. Doesn't matter if I'm logged into FB or not when I log into PTI. PTI writes my achievements to my wall with no problem, even when this error is running.

My FB PTI friends are never listed on my pages and my sister has commented I'm the only FB PTI friend that never shows up on her list either.

If I can't do the FB friend achievement, oh well it won't kill me, but what irritates me the most with this problem is that when the red message appears it blocks my ability to post on the forums. When I hit reply everything looks normal except the Save button is missing.

I'm running XP Pro with IE8 or Firefox connecting by thru RR. I'm guessing I'm stuck in some weird connection state that is a *beep* to find. Its not worth the time and hassle to try to find this bug for just a couple isolated incidents. Can you just have the Dev team reset my FB validation state to unvalidated. Then I can retry validating my FB page to PTI and see if this fixes it. Thanks.

OK, I'm not a developer here, but my son is having the same problem. For some reason, the PTI developers seem to be ignoring any and all support requests for this problem. (Probably because they have no idea what is causing it!) I was just looking around facebook and got an idea to try to maybe fix this error but I don't have his password so I have to wait for him to try it when he gets home from school. In the meantime, I'll post my idea here and maybe one of the other people having a problem can try it.

What if the error is actually on the facebook side, not the PTI side of things? If you go into your application settings in facebook, you can see a list of the applications that you have authorized to access your facebook information. For all of the applications you can delete their access to your information from that settings page and then the next time you go to use that particular application, the box will pop up asking you to give that application permission.

I'm wondering if you do that with Picture the Impossible if it will reset whatever is out of sync.

Again, not a developer, just trying to brainstorm ideas of what might fix this! :-)

If anyone tries it, can you post and let me know!

PS - I would log all the way out of facebook and PTI first, then re-log into facebook directly, try making the change, then try logging into pti and connecting from there.

The mismatched facebook accounts are usually a symptom of trying to access the site when another user is logged in on facebook. This is most common in environments like a computer lab or a shared family computer. We are aware of the problem, but each situation is unique so we've been trying to monitor it on a case by case basis.

I know in Colin's case (colinchocolate), it isn't a shared computer error because he is logging on to his own computer and it happens on his i-touch also.

My wife and I have been able to log into both our accounts (on PTI and FB) on the same computer by just logging out of both and completely clearing out the cookies each time.

Binkey - tried deleting the cookies, or tried removing access and re-authorizing PTI? (Just curious!)

I'm in contact with a developer by e-mail. He reset my FB link like I asked. When I reconnected FB I got a message that my FB is already in use by another user. Maybe this will help him to figure out what is going on.

I think I nailed down some issues that have caused the Facebook identity problems. Try editing your profile and re-connecting to Facebook.
