A Game To Bring Rochester Together!
October 4, 2009 - 12:36am
I just took some time to look through all the photos in the gallery for the Photo Frenzy challenge, and I must say that I was left with a great feeling! I felt a sense of community, that people from all over Rochester are having as much fun with this game as I am! People of all ages submitted photos and every one looked like they were excited to be participating in the game!
I noticed that nearly 2,000 people are now registered for the game, and I hope that every one of them continues to have fun and be a apart of everything Rochester has to offer! Whether you participate through just the local challenges, or the web puzzles, or the increasingly complex plot that is unfolding behind the scenes, or all aspects of the game, may we all be striving to score points for our charities, and keep it fun! :)
And, as always, a huge thanks to the PTI staff and developers for this incredible game and for all their hard work! Looking forward to greater challenges and even more fun in the coming weeks!

Here-Here, I could not have said it better myself.
This has been an incredible ride and we are soooo looking forward to the rest of October!! I mentioned to my family member team-mates that, it's a good thing we will be busy with the Holidays after this adventure is over, because the let down will certainly be felt after 10/31!
The PTI staff is an amazingly hardworking team and we appreciate your efforts more than you know.
Thank you, from another very satisfied participant and life-long Rochestarian.

I'd also like to thank them for the opportunity to spend quality time with my children. We even recruited my ex-husband for a few of the scavenger hunts!

I agree!! The planners and developers are doing a wonderful job, and the concept for this game is fresh and exciting. My parents have been having fun doing the scavenger hunts with me, even though I can't get them to officially join the game. It is so fun to run into other gamers while out on a hunt, and I must say that everyone we have met so far has been amazing. My friends who at first made fun of me for spending so much time with this game, are now starting to show interest in my progress (or lack of progress with some of these Easter eggs). I am not sure if this type of game will be offered again, but I hope it will.

I sure hope that this isn't just a one-time event. Maybe the next time could take us out into the surrounding towns so we can learn more about their history (Erie Canal, Jello, Early settlers, etc) and explore more of the greater Rochester area. Just a thought...

After seeing what this game has done for its players and the community, I should think a second ARG would be even more effective once we've spread the word about how much fun this one was.

What are we all gonna do when the game ends? Sure hope this continues in some way...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'll tell you what I'm gonna do when this is all over. I'm gonna get my homework done early, go to bed at a normal hour, rediscover my social life, and even sleep in once in a while!
That said, I'd be all for some sort of continuation. This has been a blast, and I'd love to see it (or something similar to it) done again in the coming years!

We're definitely hoping to do something like this again in the future.
(But I think the players *and* the developers are going to need a break first!)

I, too, must agree with all the above sentiments. This game has been sort of life changing for me. As I have a disability it's hard for me to get out of the house or even out of bed most days. But this game is giving me motivation and good feelings about accomplishments!! I love the community that's forming. I love using my brain in new ways. My twin sister, beautymama, and I are spending more time together doing this game. So this is a wonderful experience that may be a lot of hard work but it's also a lot more of good clean fun!
Thank you, PTI developers and gamers! <3 You are spreading more good than you may know!

Not that we need any more things to take up our time, but... maybe as individuals we know of fun puzzle or game sites or events that we could share with each other.
For example, geocaching ( www.geocaching.com ) was mentioned in another forum topic.
If you like maps and/or trivia, see http://home.earthlink.net/~oldmaltese/index.html
for the Great Maltese Circumglobal Trophy Dash or Almaniac.
Any others out there?

***WARNING*** Draculas Riddle will consume your soul and life (for about a month), so be prepared before beginning! haha

Well said, hfljazzguy, well said.
It's kind of a joke among some people I know, how much I love Rochester and how happy I am that I live here. A game like this only makes me prouder of my home town and its residents. One of my recruits is a web-game-only out-of-towner who has marveled at how lucky we are to be living here, based solely on this game. That's pretty cool.
Great game, great fun, great people.
