Version 4: adds rocdeals for week 7 (500 points!), mark of the suffragist, and mark of the propagandist

If you are a new or casual player, you may not know that there are addition points to be had which are not accessible via the "this week" tab.

If you are interested in a little bit of extra work, these points can be yours. As an added bonus, you'll see the game's "story" unfolding.

For each item, I'll give you a link to the forum post which I found most helpful. (N.B. Some of these are in the general forum, so before you post there asking for help, ask in this forum!)

N.B. Other items build on this first one, so you really need to get this one before you'll have success for most of the others.
Achievement: Mark of the Searcher: Watchmaker
Description: Keep your eyes open
Points: 25
Forum post which started it all: Just a game?
Forum post in Forge that is probably most helpful: Watchmaker

Achievement: Mark of the Searcher: SCP
Description: Show your commitment to dedication, charity, and unity
Points: 25
Forum post which helped me most (Note: don't ask for hints there because it is in the general forum): Mark of the Searcher: SCP

Achievement: Mark of the Brewer
Description: Have the right chemistry
Points: 25
Forum post which is probably most helpful: Mark of the Brewer

Achievement: Mark of the Searcher: Marquis
Description: Keen eye before the feature presentation
Points: 25
Forum post which is probably most helpful: Mark of the Searcher: Marquis

Achievement: Under Construction
Description: "I've checked my sources about Saturday's paper; that's no misprint"
Points: 225
Forum post which is probably most helpful: Under Construction

Achievement: Mark of the Suffragist
Description: "Put the words together"
Points: 50
Forum post which is probably most helpful: Mark of the Suffragist
N.B. I found this to be the hardest challenge, so I’d advise doing the other ones (especially the ones for more points!) before this one.

Achievement: Mark of the Propagandist
Description: " Went to the source to see past the smokescreen"
Points: 50
Forum post which is probably most helpful: Mark of the Propagandist

There are also a couple of "easter eggs" which are pretty much unrelated to everything else. They are just plain old fun (if you are a puzzle geek...).

Achievement: Uber Geek
Description: You won't need 30 lives for this game
Points: 5
Forum post which is probably most helpful: (N.B. this is a general forum post, so don't ask questions there!) Uber Geek

Then there's a "two-fer":
Achievement: Hello World
Description: Look up from Broad St. countdown.
Points: 15

Achievement: Not a first, but a founder
Description: Rehatch an old egg
Points: 15

There are a bunch of threads on these, but I would go with: Egg two-fer

Two more unrelated achievements have shown up recently. They are not related to any other part of the game.

Achievement: You’ve got mail
Description: Electronic Pony Express
Points: 25

Forum post which is most helpful You’ve got mail

Achievement: 1 less than three bees
Description: A pioneer comes back
Points: 100

Forum post which is most helpful 1 less than 3 bees

Lastly, the Rocdeals quiz for week 7 (the one from week 6 has expired) was hidden. It’s worth a whopping 500 points. Take your time and don’t guess. All answers are available on-line.
Forum post which is most helpful Rocdeals week 7

Hope this helps the Forge!

Thanks, Rochrach, for keeping this current and organized.

I'd appreciate more clues - from anyone - on Mark of the Brewer, Uber Geek, Hello World and Not a First, But a Founder.

I saw Shilfiell's thirst, but it wasn't enough. And some people wandered along Broad Street for 2 hours looking for the Hello World answer. I'm too busy working on my Week 7 video to take that kind of time.

Some of the suggested links (e.g. Egg two-fer and Uber Geek) don't work. I did extra searching and found other threads, which I posted in an earlier version of this thread, but even they didn't help.

Hint for Mark of Brewer:

What does a brewer make (general term)?

C if you can find the answer by googling for chemicals assosicated with brewing and/or what they make. May not be the first one you C but it will be there.

I saw that clue days ago. I googled tons of stuff. I entered tons of keywords. The 1st C didn't work, nor the 2nd, nor the 3rd, nor the 4th, nor the 5th.....

Please, I need a new clue here. ... does the chemical have to do with Shilfiell's thirst for a beer?

Not exactly - I like a whole beer, not just its components.

I'm beginning to think the Watchmaker was loose in his definition of "chemical." Like maybe he meant a compound, or a mixture or something that has no chemical formula, such as a tree or a dyed shirt. Or the name of something, as though that means it's a chemical.

You need to think in a more formulaic manner, Delos. :)

Aw man, can't believe I messed up the links again.

Here are the correct links:
Uber Geek

Egg two-fer

You’ve got mail

Plus, I'm willing to bet it's now gonna be an egg-three fer with the new Adieu egg. I'd suggest stopping off at the Broad Street location on the way home/to this week's scvngr hunt as it is nearby.

I was thinking formulaicly. I began with simple formulas, but when I started entering formulas for flavinoids, it occurred to me I might be over-thinking this one.

I think you are over-thinking.

If caffine is the active ingredient in coffee (at least if it's not decaf),

then xxxx is the active incredient in beer (at least if it's not O'Doul's)...

Next, if you were in a Chem class, what would be the formula for xxxx?

*groan* I had started with the ingredients to make XXX. By the time I got to the chemical structure of the final product, I mistakenly added one too many molecules to the formula. I went downhill from there.

Thanks for the final hint. Go Forge!

(this user would die of embarrassment if she weren't so tired from decoding those letters between Anita & Mathias)
