Ack! I promised to become more involved in exchange for riding some hard workers' coat-tails in a couple of this week's challenges, and I have a prior commitment Sunday afternoon.
Was Rochrach able to find takers for all of the open spots on the Our Towns picture puzzle before the submission deadline?
If not, strategy-wise, it might be a good idea to try to get the usernames of possible coat-tail riders (those who know they'll be unable to work on a particular challenge, but will give their info to be included on someone else's team) at the beginning of the week or even sooner.
e.g. there appears to be a Week 7 social justice video challenge. Let's start looking now for those who won't or might not be able to work on the video-making.
Team leaders may not know until the submission week how many open spots there'll be for coat-tail riders. But if we can develop a list of these people sooner, it could mean more points for Forge and less last-minute stress for, say, Rochrach and Micci.
I felt guilty taking a team spot when I did no work. Others may feel guilt too and be hesitant to take a spot to support the Forge. We may need to help people overcome guilt.
*sigh* It may be that those people who don't have the time or interest to the team challenges also don't have time or interest to read forums.

The whole idea here is to help each other, so its good to come together and work on these things, so yes, we will start making plans for the week seven challenge. We are already considering making the video at Foodlink, LOTS of possibilities for great video to promote it and to promote us too. We will keep everyone in the loop. Micci

Hmmm, if we know how many coat-tail riders we'll have for a particular challenge, we can determine how many total teams we need to submit.
e.g. My initial preference is to join someone who has put a call out for team members to do the Week 7 video challenge (for a total of 1 submission), but if we knew there were 3 coat-tail riders and no open spots, then I'd start my own team of one and add those 3 people to my team (for a total of 2 submissions).

Can't make the meet this time, but see my "Arrrggghhh" thread for contact info...will gladly collaborate by phone (on speaker, since I'll be driving)!
You guys will enjoy the Scavenger a lot. Some of us who did it yesterday got a bonus Parade to boot! History and Cotton Candy and Bagpipes....life is very sweet indeed. :)

How did the Sunday strategy session at the Lovin' Cup go?
I still can't find anything on this site about the Week 7 Social Justice or Call To Action video challenge, but I've seen it twice in this forum, so it must be true.
There is an open house at Foodlink on Wed. Oct. 21st from 4 to 6:30 p.m. to celebrate their new location at 425 Ormond St., in the former Pepsi building at the corner of Joseph Ave and Nassau Ave.
Are we aiming to get as many of us there as possible (what time works best for Foodlink's schedule of events?) and take pictures and video of the event? Shall we talk to Foodlink people, such as Maria Oberst, Community Relations Manager, to make sure we get certain shots, such as of Executive Director Tom Ferraro, or learn what they think matters most to include in a social justice video that may include their organization?
Hmmm, it might be a good idea to get their permission on our doing video of them for possible public consumption, and not just assume we have it.
Dunno about others, but I need lots of advance notice in order to attend an event like the Foodlink open house.
Maybe I'm re-inventing the wheel you all created on Sunday. Where do you need Forge volunteers?

Delos,
Great ideas!
Maria Oberst and other foodlink folks are playing the game for team forge, so it shouldn't be much of a problem or a surprise to work with them.
As for the information on future weeks, folks are picking it up from the "official rules" which are at the bottom of each web page:
http://picturetheimpossible.com/rules
The PTI team hasn't wanted folks to look ahead and so have not provided any information on these. (They say that their lawyers made them put in the official rules. Presumably, if they had their druthers, each week would be more of a surprise....)

I agree that going on the 21st would be a great idea, however we should give them a heads up and let them know what we are doing, I can contact Terra and see what she thinks about a group of us going. Maybe we can get a tour and some video at the same time. Micci

Oh gawd, I'm so embarrassed. I had read the first two and last three items in the rules and skipped everything in between.
I see a separate thread on the Week 7 video, so I'll comment there.
So, we have to submit original art work of a famous Rochesterian next week, eh? Too bad there haven't been any famous stick people from Rochester.
Was there any strategy talked of on Sunday about the Week 6 art work? Can't tell from the rules if it'll be a team thing or not. If it isn't, I think many may decline to do this one, saying they aren't artistic or don't know who to draw.
How many Forgers came to the Lovin' Cup this past Sunday? Is it worth it to have a group art session in Week 6 to encourage all effort in a fun way? Or would those who'd do the art work anyway be the only ones to show up?

I am waiting to see what the guidelines for the challenge will be next week, before posting for the forum. We had 4 of us at the Lovin Cup and met up with a half dozen more forge members at Wally's with the Paper People. Micci

I think we can go over to RIT and visit with our paper people at the coffee shop and get photos done, right after the meet and before a Scvgr hunt, that way THREE things get done that day, YEAH! Count it up, thats about 750 points right there! Micci
