Forging all day
September 19, 2009 - 9:10pm
We got our ingredients today (well, not our first choices, but still workable) and then spent the rest of the day finishing up all five neighborhoods in the Scavenger hunt, and finding the Hello, World code! A tough day, but so well worth it. :)
I hope this is a big week for the Forge!

The Neighborhood of the Arts was an awesome scavenger hunt, the Coffee House Crawl... Not so much! Check out our pic the Goat45 at Neighborhood of the Arts scavenger hunt!

Can you elaborate on why you didn't like this scavenger hunt as much? We're learning as we go along, and feedback is really helpful.

I'll jump in here uninvited - I liked this one a LOT because it was difficult to finish but wish there were more clue-type entries instead of just "find this, take picture". I liked having to know the name of the architect or something like that about the places we visited, more fun than a big quick dash. Also, all those pictures used up my camera battery pretty darned fast and it's hard to get your whole team in a pic with a sign unless you have a helper...
Liked seeing so much of the city, disliked learning so little about what we saw!

The Coffeehouse Crawl was so easy. You could almost do it right from the car. Where the NOTA scavenger hunt was about finding stuff out. I have to say that I much preferred the NOTA. But so far this has been a good experience.

I too liked the NOTA hunt better than the coffee crawl. We learned more about our area. On the Coffee Crawl there were too many texts of next clue coming. We did see a decent ammount of the city, but we didn't learn much about those areas except that there is a local coffee shop with multiple locations around town. We also had a lot of problems with our pilot's text messages going through. All in all not a bad crawl but it was really easy.

Yep, I agree....difficult to finish in that it was spread out and had many points, but easy in that finding the clues was no challenge at all and if it wasn't for the pictures we could have googled it all from home in a few minutes.

Too many pictures, boring questions, No cool hidden stuff like the scp flyers. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody at the recipe challenge though! I'm also hoping that the storyline gets expanded upon! Too much car riding!

The only ingredient that isn't available locally is the Habanero Cheddar, but he will be back Thursday 6:30am - 1:30pm at the public market. Check out thread in general section for addresses of shops.
