The competition heats up
Hot java and a dry day made the Sept. 19 coffee-crawl scavenger hunt a favorite challenge among people playing Picture the Impossible, now entering its third week.
More than 300 newcomers have joined the game since last week, increasing total registrations to almost 2,000 players, many of whom collaborated in game forums, connected on Facebook or strategized at gatherings.
“I’m really enjoying it,” said Jeni Lee of Penfield, who plays the game with her husband, Myung Lee.
“We are having a freakin’ blast,” said Pamela Spencer of Greece, who plays with family members. “It has taken over.”
The Tree faction, which benefits Golisano Children’s Hospital, kept its first-place standing for the second week in a row.
The Watch and The Forge were neck and neck, but ultimately, The Watch pulled out a second-place win for Wilson Commencement Park, and The Forge came in third for Foodlink. (All three organizations will receive donations from game sponsors on Oct. 31.)
This week, the focus turns to “Rochester Firsts.” Players should have their photos taken with as many “Rochester Firsts” as possible. They should keep working together, because game play will become more difficult, making collaboration more important.
Remember to check Wednesday’s Our Towns editions for more pieces to the Mystery Photo. Picture the Impossible started Sept. 12 and was created by the Democrat and Chronicle and the Rochester Institute of Technology. To register, go to picturetheimpossible.com.
